  DECEMBER NEWS

The club's annual member and elections board meeting, and holiday party was well attended.

Election results for the year 2024 are as follows:

President: Dennis Loetscher

Vice President: Sandy Van Slyke (also as required: President Emeritus)

Secretary: Diane Reitmeyer

Treasurer: Bruce Rawleigh

We now have a full Board and next year will be full speed ahead with a full slate of challenges.

The biggest issue is that the club is losing money due to lack of class participation in the Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced 108 classes. When the club has to subsidize a class, it loses money every week.

The club will approach new ways to offset the costs of classes because traditionally and philosophically, the club must include all 108 classes regardless of the number of students.

The holiday party was excellent and kudos to our Secretary and Event Coordinator, Diane Reitmeyer and volunteer Patty Schnupp for catering and decorating.

The Club's next work session will be held on Thursday January 4, 2024, at the Bell Rec. Center TEAM Room (next to the bowling alley) at 4pm.

 AGENDA

 1. Treasurer’s Report

2. Begin discussion about how to offset class costs

3. Recruit 4 people to man the 9 am and 6 pm table at the Discover Sun City Event January 17, 2024. It's a fun event with lots of folks visiting many clubs. Our club will have flyers and candies available. Two members (guests can help to) must be knowledgeable about the different classes (this is easy to learn)

Discover Sun City AZ Timeline

Table assignments will be given upon arrival.

Set-up 7:30 am – 8:30 am (must be set up by 8:30 am)

AM Session – 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Break – 11:15 am – 5:45 pm

PM Session – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The club table needs to be manned for both sessions 8:45 am – 11:00 am and 5:45 pm – 8:00 pm. If our club does not participate in both sessions, our club will not be able to participate in the following year’s Discover Sun City AZ.

The items on your table can remain in place during the break as the room will be secured during this time. Please volunteer by adding your name to the volunteer list at the sign-in table or email: taichiclubaz1@gmail.com

4. Planning for the 3-day Grand Master visit is March 2024.

Our meetings include a discussion about the upcoming events and general discussions about club activities. Please join us and bring your input and suggestions.

A big Thank You! to all those that monitored during the month of November.
